Christmas Countdown – Day 2

Surcies ~

Whether you are attending a party, or just stopping by for a visit with a dear friend or family member, it’s always a nice idea to bring along a special token to commemorate the holiday spirit.  These little unexpected surprises, also know as “surcies”, are sure to brighten the occasion!

animal stoppers

Animal patterned bottle stoppers are a lovely find at the Neiman Marcus Outlet.  Even if your host is a teetotaler, these could be used to keep salad dressings fresh.  At $25 for the boxed pair, they are a great chi-chi find!

Mariage Frères Tea - French Breakfast, 30 Mousselines

Mariage Frères Tea, from the oldest tea importer in France, comes in many varieties, infused with rich flavors.  The tea tin is absolutely divine, too.  A lovely keepsake to be enjoyed, after the tea has been consumed.  It reminds me of some of the ones I videoed while attending a local antiques’ show.  (Order Mariage Frères Tea through A Southern Season.  Under $25.)

sweaterStone

As we are in full-fledged sweater weather, The Laundress has provided a solution for getting rid of those pesky surface pills.  This is for the person who values practical gifting practices!  The Sweater Stone is $18.

Grapefruit Travel Candle

For the frequent traveler, Jo Malone offers the comforting scent of home, with a smaller size.  The Grapefruit fragrance would clear the air of any stuffy hotel room.  $35 with an 18 hour burn time.

What other surcies can you think of adding to my list?  I would love to have you share a comment with a link to a favorite product.  We could all benefit from the smiles we would receive from a sharing a special surprise!
