Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
One of the [Landmark Education] courses I’ve participated in, explored original thought and asked us to consider that we rarely have an original thought or say anything new. We all talk the way our family/friends/colleagues talk. We laugh like they do, and we copy their expressions. Not like this is THE TRUTH, simply an exploratory conversation to get us thinking outside the box. And I did notice that it pretty much is that way.
That’s why I thought the above quote was so great. It’s true that we all see what everyone else sees, the creativity lies in being able to see it and create something different with it, form a different interpretation than what one might think is the obvious one!
Say something new. Do something new. Maybe January should really be about that, not only to give us a new slate, filled with our intentions/goals/resolutions (to get the difference between them click here) , but to create something NEW.
Discovery. . . That which is discovered; a thing found out, or for the first time ascertained or recognized; exploration; examination.
