When I was in Portland a few weeks ago I bought the tall Mercury glass vase at West Elm. Then last week I found the short one at HomeSense.

Now that I have such a dramatic sofa table (which is the first thing you see when you walk into my living room) I’m compelled to always have fresh flowers on it. So I bought some branches for the tall ones—greens usually last for about a month. And then yesterday I bought a tiny bunch of Casablanca Lilies for $5. When you cut them low and add some green leaves from outside, suddenly you have this inexpensive but dramatic arrangement!
You can see me taking the picture in the reflection of the vase, I couldn’t figure out how to get around that :)
Here’s another angle into the dining room, love my new chairs but I haven’t found the table and sideboard yet, that’s just an old gate leg table we are using in the interim. I also desperately need new toss cushions and I just received some new fabric books so I’ll make some decisions there too! A housewarming before Christmas is looking bleak at this point, eeeek. I’m off to the Culture Crawl tonight to see if I can find some art to fill my empty wall (above).
We had our first official snowfall yesterday, here’s what the walkway in our complex looked like afterwards. We RARELY get snow this early but they are saying it’s to be the worst winter in 50 years. . . we’ll see if that’s right!
Here’s what it looked like in the summer (above).
I love this feather, raspberry wreath I found for the mantle. I’ll show you the entire mantle when I pull out my Christmas decorations and decorate the whole thing. Also my 2 stocking holders. Now I need cute stockings to match!
Hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend!
