This exterior [was] in the process of being painted. It was previously an unfortunate shade of pink and is now in the middle of the transformation!
Much better don’t you think? Normally pillars look the best white [or cream] but in this case, this huge house without a lot of great artchitectural detail really works with the accents and pillars painted in a charcoal.
The Designer whom I consulted with on this house had a woman drive up to the house and ask what the colours were. The designer asked; ‘Would you like me to come by to make sure these colours will work on your house?” She just looked at her blankly and drove away.
Why does this charcoal work so well combined with the brown? Well one reason is because it relates so well to the existing slate steps and patio areas. It still wouldn’t work to just randomly take these colours [off this or any other house] and stick them on your house without taking all other features of the house into consideration!
