I was completely moved today while reading the colourful and fabulous blog of Kelee Katillac from The Katillac Shack. Kelee is an internationally known designer and author who is famous for the difference she makes in the world through colour and design. Her blog is about living with intention, creating miracles and finding purpose!
Kelee says if we are not creating we are crying. That resonated with me because it took until my early 30’s to start the journey of following my bliss. It was then that I truly realized I had to be creative or die. Kelee has even been on Oprah talking about how design transforms lives.
She made this lampshade (above) and the ottoman (below). Kelee’s blog truly shows how colour creates a feeling with a little inspiration from her book: Kid’s Sacred Spaces.
Kelee founded the "House of Belief" DIY workshop for Habitat for Humanity to help homeowners to have the furnishings, window coverings and amenities that make the Habitat house into a true home. Click here for the full story.
Reading Kelee’s blog reminded me of a quote from Landmark; One of the reasons we are here on this earth is to have the experience of profoundly contributing to someone else’s life. That is what my uncle (who passed away peacefully this morning) did with everyone who touched his life. He will be truly missed.
Thanks Kelee for being such an inspiration!!
