Who else will be Sleepless in Seattle?

One of my lovely readers Jen at Bloggers Abode suggested I write a post about what I’m looking for and I thought this was a brilliant plan so here’s my shopping list for my new place. First, I’m totally in love with yellow and raspberry pink for a living room colour scheme. I haven’t committed to the pink yet but I’m close, what do you think?

I know I’ve shown the above image before but it’s very hard to find a living room done in sunshine yellow and raspberry! Okay so on to my list, the reason I haven’t shown you pictures of my Tiffany blue office yet (sneak peak here) is because I need 2 new white office chairs! Here’s the one I want, in Vancouver they’re $599—too much!

For my living room, I have already bought BESTA shelving from IKEA. The combinations for this line—by the way—are amazing. The clerk at IKEA said she has seen them in a loft going up 20 ft. No one beats IKEA for the price and the look on some things that’s for sure. Since I’m renting I won't be doing custom but these will look really good! The boxes are piled up in my living room floor waiting to be installed--and I'm hiring their installers (so inexpensive to dream of doing it myself). That will happen after the room is painted and I haven’t decided on the entire colour scheme which is why I am not painting just yet.

My living room is quite big and I am setting them up as a corner unit to give it the feeling of a ‘library’ corner. I can’t wait to display all my magazines (I have soooooo many—as you know I only throw them away when they are more than 10 years old) and books in them and make them look cute! Then in front of it I want something like this pedestal table from Mitchell Gold (closest one is in Portland—sigh) but I’ll take something similar:

Then I’ll need a cute chair or two in front behind it, love this one below:

I have bought this console table from Chintz & Company (it has not arrived yet) for behind the sofa, it’s my nod to the Belgian inspired look that is so hot right now.

image It looks way better with stuff on it, had I not seen it in the store I don’t think I would have looked twice at it on their website. So far I’m thinking it’ll go behind my sunshine yellow sofa as it will sit in the middle of the living room to define the living from the dining room.

imageThis is the colour, I’m doing it in cotton/polyester velvet from Pace Fabrics which from my experience is the most bulletproof velvet (unless you like crushed velvet—which I love as well) and basically the style except it’s a 2 seater sofa not this little baby loveseat!

imageThis is the feeling I want for my dining room, I’m not attached to the style of the chairs or even the dining table (and it won’t be turquoise) but I love this room including the chandelier!

I picked up the white linen drapes for my bedroom today and they look fabulous! I got them made without lining because we like to wake up with the sun!

So, since I’ll be in Sleepless in Seattle this Sunday – Tuesday because I’ll be so busy shopping in between my consultations, where should I go? I would love your suggestions!
